Abstract


NEW ARGUMENTS IN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND LEADERSHIP STYLE: A STUDY AT THE VESTEL FACTORY IN MANISA

Classical concept of organizational culture is; norms, behaviors, values, beliefs and habits that shape the behavior of people in an organization. Based on this unique system in the organizational environment, employees form a culture, develop, change and transfer it to new employees. Organizational culture often begins with a leader or a pioneer who sets and applies values and certain ideas, such as vision, philosophy and business strategies. These ideas and values are institutionalized when they lead to success and allow the emergence of an organization's culture that reflects the vision and strategies of the leader. For this reason, the leader's performance and leadership style will be the most important indicator when organizational culture is shaped for strategic purposes. The purpose of the research is; When the relationship between leadership style and organizational culture is strong, what changes can be observed in the organization. For this purpose, 671 employee surveys were conducted at the Manisa Vestel Factory. Face-to-face interviews with 10 custodians were also conducted. According to the statistical analysis results; It has become clear that leadership style influences organizational culture more.
